What does HD1 stand for?

I keep seeing references to “HD1” in discussions around Hexes and Hex Guardians, but I can’t find a clear explanation of what it actually stands for.

Is HD1 a specific type of Hex? A tier? Some kind of pilot program? And how does it tie into what Hex Guardians are supposed to do?

Hey @lovegolf, welcome to the Club!

HD1 is the internal project name for Hex Guardians. It’s named after the HD1 galaxy (HD1 - Wikipedia), which is the most distant galaxy we’ve discovered. The name fits, since this project is aiming to launch World Mobile into an entirely new stratosphere.

You’ll hear people use HD1 and Hex Guardians interchangeably, and that’s mostly accurate. Technically though, HD1 refers to the broader initiative, while Hex Guardians are the individuals being onboarded through it. So Hex Guardians are part of the HD1 project, not something completely separate.

In recent X Spaces (especially ones with @MrTelecoms and @WorldMobilers), it was mentioned that HD1 is a huge part of World Mobile’s plan to reach over 100 million users this year. A new dashboard and platform are being built behind the scenes, and some early testers like Mav100 are already getting a preview.

Exciting times ahead. Buckle in!
