World Mobile has officially kicked off its first steps into Latin America.
CPO and Co-Founder Antonio Hernández is currently in Buenos Aires, presenting World Mobile’s vision of a people-powered network, built on AirNodes, owned by local communities, and created to challenge the status quo of traditional telecom.
That vision is now turning into action.
From the Senate floor in Argentina, Antonio signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vice Governor of Corrientes Province. The goal? Trial a decentralized network deployment in Corrientes.
Real infrastructure. Real rewards. Real impact.
This marks a major step toward empowering local communities to own and operate the connectivity they rely on.
“We are meeting lots of local entrepreneurs that are extremely interested in seeking a path to join the sharing economy, helping them expand their existing and future networks.
This is us taking a first step to bring World Mobile to Latin America, and the province of Corrientes is ripe with local initiatives that would benefit immensely of what World Mobile, and especially our community can bring.
I am enjoying a lot of individual talks with many actors in all different parts of the economy and civil society. And every single one of them is amazed at what we, the World Mobile community, have already built and are able to build.”
With grassroots energy and strong local interest, Corrientes could become a blueprint for expanding World Mobile’s model across the region.
This isn’t just outreach. It’s on-the-ground action, and one more sign that the decentralized future of connectivity is already unfolding.
