  • Onboard and support local users with World Mobile SIMs and services.
  • Build partnerships to grow network adoption.
  • Maintain infrastructure for long-term success.
  • Earn revenue from subscriber activity and network participation.

Hey,

Quick question about responsabilities as Hex Guardian role : Will we also be in charge of operating the deployed network, or does our role stop after the deployment is complete ?

Hi @kiejz,

Great question! While we don’t have all the final details yet, it’s safe to say that the role of a Hex Guardian extends beyond just deploying the network. Think of owning a Hex like managing a franchise of the World Mobile telecom company within your allocated Hex.

As a Hex Guardian, your responsibilities will likely include:

  • Deploying the Network: Helping with the initial deployment of AirNodes and infrastructure within your Hex.
  • Ensuring Network Maintenance: Making sure the network remains operational and coverage stays reliable for customers in your Hex. This includes continuous scanning.
  • Supporting Operators and Hosts: Recruiting and managing AirNode Operators and Hosts to ensure seamless operations.
  • Promoting Subscriptions: Encouraging adoption of World Mobile services in your Hex to grow the customer base.
  • Bridging Connectivity Gaps: Continuously optimizing the network to meet the needs of your community.

A deployed network with no customers will not bring you much revenue. But a lot of customers means you’re gonna get busy (in a good way!).
