Why doesn’t the AirNode checkout hold items in your cart like other online stores?

It’s super frustrating to add AirNodes to your cart, only to lose them because someone else completed payment faster. Most online shops reserve items for a few minutes, so why not here? Even a simple timer could help level the playing field and reduce the chaos during drops.

WM recently introduced a tiered checkout timer to make things fairer and stop cart hoarding. Here’s how it works:

  • On your first attempt, you get 20 minutes to complete the purchase
  • If you time out or back out and try again, your 2nd and 3rd attempts give you 5 minutes each
  • By the 4th attempt, checkout is disabled for that drop, no more tries

So once you start checkout, your AirNode is reserved for that time window. If you don’t finish in time, it gets released and your attempt is counted. This system was added to cut down on people grabbing tons of AirNodes and stalling, and it’s already made things smoother and faster for real buyers.

You still need to act quickly at the start of a drop, but once you’re in, there’s no panic, just don’t waste your attempt.
