Why does World Mobile only offer eSIMs instead of traditional SIM cards?

World Mobile plans seem to focus exclusively on eSIMs rather than also offering physical SIM cards. Is there a particular reason or benefit behind choosing eSIM-only?

Hi @tery,

It is true - and yes, there are reasons for this choice:

World Mobile is focusing exclusively on eSIMs because they offer several advantages over traditional SIM cards. For one, eSIMs are embedded directly into your device, which means they’re not vulnerable to physical tampering or cloning. In addition, remote management allows for quick deactivation if your phone is lost or stolen, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Another key benefit is cost efficiency. By eliminating the need to produce and distribute physical SIM cards, eSIMs help lower operational costs and environmental impact. They also make it easier for users to switch plans or manage multiple profiles on a single device—a feature that’s especially useful for frequent travelers or those who require multiple numbers.

With major manufacturers like Apple moving towards eSIM-enabled devices (such as the new iPhone 16), it’s clear that the industry is embracing this technology for its security, flexibility, and improved user experience.
