Why do I need to send ADA to my own wallet to verify it?

I just set up my Vault and now it’s telling me to send some ADA to my own wallet address to verify it. Is that actually how it works? Feels kinda weird… what’s the point of sending it to myself?

Hey @WIFIKA,

It’s how the system verifies that you fully control the wallet.

By sending a small amount of ADA to your own receive address, you’re proving you have access to the private keys and can make transactions from that wallet. It’s a simple way for the Vault to confirm that the address you entered is really yours.

Nothing actually leaves your wallet — the ADA goes right back to you (minus a tiny fee), and the Vault uses that as the verification signal.

Once the transaction is confirmed, your wallet will show as active and staking will be ready to go from the next snapshot.

Let us know if anything else feels unclear.
