Thinking of switching to Android just to use Scan-for-Points - good idea or waste of time?

I’ve been an iPhone user forever and really love my iPhone, but I keep hearing that the Scan-for-Points feature in the World Mobile app is stuck in limbo on iOS. Android users have had it for months (years?) and are already cashing in points, while iOS still just shows “coming soon” with no firm date.

Got a few questions:

  • Does anyone have any real info on when the iOS version will actually launch? Days, weeks, or months away?
  • If it really is months off, did anyone grab a cheap Android phone just to start scanning? How’s the app stability, battery life and privacy on Android?

Thanks!

Hey @Maximus,

I’m in the same boat, still on iPhone but itching to scan.

iOS ETA
No firm timeline yet. Reclaim podcast teased the all-new Scan-for-Points Android app, but as with any App Store submission, Apple’s review process can add anywhere from days to a much longer delay. So no date yet.

Android option
I guess you could, but not sure if it makes sense unless you’re really passionate about scanning and cover a lot of ground. I’ve heard that the app is stable, runs in the background, and doesn’t drain too much battery.

Let us know if you end up going Android or decide to wait it out!
