International roaming

Hello!

I’m a bit confused about how international roaming works with the Essential and Advanced plans. I couldn’t find clear details on whether data roaming in other countries is included, available as an add-on, or not offered at all. If it is included, which plans cover it? Would appreciate any clarification!

Hey @KYLOREN,

The Essential and Advanced plans are built for US use only. They give you unlimited calls, texts, and data within the US, with 10GB and 30GB of high-speed priority data included. But once you leave the country, those plans won’t cover international data, calls, or texts. So no roaming included by default.

If you need international coverage, there are a few different options depending on your situation:

  1. World Mobile offers a separate plan called Global Access. It’s a data-only plan with 20GB of high-speed data that works in over 60 countries. It also includes hotspot support. This is probably the easiest option if you’re traveling often or continuously across many countries, and just want solid data coverage without switching your primary plan.
  2. You can also use World Mobile Travel eSIMs. These are one-time prepaid eSIMs that give you data for a specific region or country, usually for 30, 60, or 90 days. They don’t include a phone number, so no calls or texts, just data. These are ideal for short-term trips or as a backup while abroad.
  3. If you’re a Premier Staker, you can unlock global roaming benefits as part of your rewards. Depending on how much WMTx you’ve staked, you get monthly international data. For example:
  • Silver Tier (10,000 WMTx staked) gives you 1GB
  • Gold Tier (50,000 WMTx) gives 3GB
  • Platinum Tier (100,000 WMTx) gives 5GB
  • Black Tier (250,000 WMTx) gives 10GB

So if you’re already staking or plan to, that could be a useful perk.

Looking ahead, there’s a good chance that World Mobile might add roaming add-ons or international packs to the Essential and Advanced plans. Nothing has been officially announced yet, but it seems likely as the service expands.

At these price points, I was definitely expecting at least some international roaming to be included with the Essential and Advanced plans. Having to buy a separate plan or Travel eSIM every time feels a bit much. And the premier staking perks for roaming require a pretty big stake, not really worth it unless you’re already deep into the ecosystem.
