WM says it wants to connect areas with little or no internet access, but how does it actually do that if there’s no existing network to use? How can it run internet without its own infrastructure already in place?
Hi @Oreo!
WM’s whole mission is about connecting the unconnected by enabling regular people, not just big corporations, to build and run the network. Instead of waiting on telcos that aren’t willing to serve certain areas, WM empowers the sharing economy to step in and deploy the infrastructure themselves.
The bigger vision? Building the world’s first and largest web3 telco. One where users can reclaim their privacy, security, and data. Basically take back control from legacy providers who’ve had a monopoly for too long. It’s about giving power back to the people, both in terms of access and ownership.
For the first time in telecom, people can actually take part in the network and earn from it. With revenue share (85 to 90 percent) going back to the community, it’s a totally new model.
And now with Project HD1 (Hex Guardian), even more folks will be able to run their own mini-telco by deploying, managing, and promoting nodes in a way that’s accessible and rewarding.
