The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique number assigned to your Android device. It is used for unlocking, reporting a lost or stolen phone, troubleshooting with World Mobile, and checking device compatibility. Here’s how to find it:
Find the IMEI in settings
If your phone is working, this is the easiest way to check your IMEI.
- Open settings
- Tap about phone
- Scroll down to IMEI
If your phone has dual SIM, you may see two IMEI numbers, one for each SIM slot.
Find the IMEI using a dial code
Even if your screen is locked, you can retrieve the IMEI using this method.
- Open the phone app
- Dial *#06# and press call
- The IMEI number(s) will appear on the screen
Find the IMEI on the device
If your phone won’t turn on, you may still be able to locate the IMEI physically.
- Many Android phones have the IMEI printed on the SIM tray
- On some older models, it may be printed on the back of the phone
- If your phone has a removable battery, check inside the battery compartment
Find the IMEI through your Google account
If your phone is lost, you can check the IMEI remotely through Google.
- Go to Google’s Find My Device
- Sign in with your Google account
- Select your device from the list
- The IMEI may be displayed in the device details
This method is useful if you no longer have your phone but need the IMEI for unlocking or reporting it stolen.
