Are there any fees for staking, claiming, or unstaking WMTx?

Hey all,

I was wondering if there are any fees involved when claiming rewards or unstaking.
Do we need to pay gas every time, or is it only during setup?

Yes, there are some small fees involved, but it depends on which chain you’re using.

Cardano:

You’ll need to send a small amount of ADA (usually between 1.4 and 1.8 ADA) to your own wallet to verify it during setup.
Beyond that, normal Cardano network fees apply when rewards become claimable, but they’re very minimal. There’s no fee for simply staking or staying staked.

Base (EVM):

Here you’ll pay gas fees (in ETH on Base) each time you stake, claim rewards, or unstake.
The gas cost depends on network traffic, but it’s usually pretty low on Base. Just make sure you have a bit of ETH in your wallet when interacting with the staking contract.
